Residents of the Lawrence School District are encouraged to attend meetings.
The Superintendent of Schools is charged with the responsibility of establishing regulations and implementing Board policies. Partners in Education
Based on the belief that the educational process should become a more collaborative effort involving the entire school community, Lawrence Public Schools has a thriving Shared Decision-Making program. As one of the first approved and operational programs in the state and county, Shared Decision-Making teams in each building provide an opportunity for greater input for everyone involved in education. Teams are comprised of teachers, parents, administrators, support staff and, at Lawrence High School, students. Committees work in partnership with the school principal in such matters as building budgets, school maintenance and security, staff selection and cultural art programs. Decisions are made by consensus, a basic of agreement by all committee members.
