Monthly Letter
March 2010
Dear Friends and Families of Number Four School,
At #4 School we are looking forward to spring’s arrival! Please help us to celebrate spring’s arrival by making a paper flower at home to decorate the curtain and bulletin boards in our auditorium. Our auditorium will be transformed with flowers as unique as our beautiful children and these flowers will remain as our decorations for the school’s end of the year events. We’ll be “planting” the flowers during our spring planting on Friday, March 19th.
At Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, March 25th you will be receiving your child’s progress report. Most importantly, you and the teachers will be able to continue the conversation on how to maximize your child’s academic and social growth.
This month our social-emotional learning theme will be based on the competency of social awareness. Using the book Grumpy Bird by Jeremy Tankard we will be discussing how friends can help one another. As the spring birds return, this sweet story will help us talk about how the seasons aren’t the only things that change, feelings can also change. If you’d like to borrow the book to find out if Grumpy Bird stays grumpy, just send me a note.
Happy Spring!
Dr. Pedersen
Principal
