LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (FEBRUARY 2023)—Lawrence Middle School recently received a $2,500 grant from Bob’s Discount Furniture through the company’s Bob’s Outreach Program. The funds will be used to furnish the school’s social-emotional learning (SEL) room.

“Thank you so much to the management at Bob’s Furniture for their generosity. This will be a huge help to keep our students emotionally and physically comfortable in the SEL room,” said Willis Perry, Principal of Lawrence Middle School. “Social-emotional learning is a huge part of our school's curriculum, and our SEL room is an important tool in effectively delivering that learning.”

The SEL room is a dedicated space where students can go during their lunch periods for a quiet, warm, and safe space. The room will also be used for peer mediation and mediation with the school’s psychologist, social worker, and guidance counselors.

The Bob’s Outreach Program and Bob’s Discount Furniture Charitable Foundation have donated more than $100,000 to schools and nearly $3 million dollars to charities annually.
