LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (JUNE 2023)—Lawrence High School is proud to announce that
Stephanie Lopez was one of the selected students to represent the school in the National
Association for Music Education (NAfME) Eastern Division Conference hosted by the New York
State School Music Association (NYSSMA).
“We are incredibly proud of Stephanie and all of her accomplishments throughout her high
school journey,” said Dr. Jennifer Lagnado-Papp, Principal of Lawrence High School. “We know
she will continue to strive for excellence and we look forward to cheering for Stephanie in all
her future endeavors.”
Stephanie is a senior at Lawrence High School and has been a member of the show choir and
drama club since middle school. Stephanie has performed in 16 Lawrence productions including
playing the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Genie in Aladdin, Fiona in Shrek, and the Witch
in Into the Woods to name a few. This year she had the privilege of performing in the All-County
Chorus and was chosen as a soloist, in the All-Eastern Treble Choir, the ACDA Nationals Choir,
and the All-State Mixed Choir, where she received a solo that she performed alongside the
Eastman School of Music choir. In addition, Stephanie has been on scholarship with the
Manhattan School of Music Pre-College program for the past six years. She spent her
weekends taking college-level classes and gaining performance opportunities in a professional
musical setting.
Stephanie is enrolled in high-level Honors and AP courses and is currently a member of the
National Honor Society and National Society of High School Scholars. Stephanie plans on
continuing her musical training as she pursues a Bachelor's in Vocal Performance at SMU
Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas, Texas.
