Lawrence High School Senior Commits to Quinnipiac University’s Division I Acrobatics and Tumbling Team

LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (JANUARY 2024)—Lawrence High School is proud to announce that senior student Kendall Levey signed her letter of intent on National Signing Day, and she will compete for Quinnipiac University on their Division I Acrobatics and Tumbling Team. Despite Lawrence High School not having a gymnastics team, Kendall’s dedication and hard work on outside teams have earned her this incredible opportunity.

“We are extremely proud of Kendall on her commitment to Quinnipiac University,” said Angela Matinale, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics. “Kendall’s dedication and hard work have earned her this incredible opportunity. We wish her the best of luck as she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her athletic career.”

Kendall’s journey in gymnastics began at the age of 5; since then, she has shown immense talent and determination in the sport. As a competitive gymnast in level nine, Kendall has consistently displayed exceptional skills and a strong work ethic. Her commitment to excellence is evident in the sacrifices she has made, including traveling one hour each way to practice five days per week.

Most impressively, Kendall has excelled in gymnastics while maintaining an impressive 4.0 grade point average. Her ability to balance her academic and athletic commitments is a testament to her discipline, character, and time-management skills.

Kendall’s hard work and dedication have paid off in many ways; remarkably, she recently became the New York State  Champion on the beam! This accomplishment showcases her great talent and the countless hours she has dedicated to perfecting her skills.
