LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (MARCH 2024)—Young innovators at Lawrence Primary School embarked on an exciting journey of exploration and discovery, immersing themselves in a dynamic program that seamlessly integrated STEM education and physical activity. Hosted by the PTA, the event showcased the intersection of STEM— science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—principles and roller skating at the United Skates of America.
The innovative program, spanning three hours of interactive learning and physical engagement, captivated the students by highlighting the practical applications of STEM concepts in a fun and engaging manner. Through engaging lessons, students gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between STEM subjects and their connection to the exhilarating world of roller skating. As part of the program, the students actively participated in a variety of challenges and activities that challenged their problem-solving skills and critical-thinking abilities.
Principal Kristen Panzarella expressed admiration for the students' enthusiasm and engagement throughout the program, underscoring the significance of integrating STEM education with physical activity. "The STEM and Physical Education program provided our students with a unique opportunity to explore the exciting connections between STEM and physical fitness,” she said. “We are so proud of their curiosity and dedication to learning,"
