LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (MAY 2024)—Lawrence High School is thrilled to announce that its students recently embarked on an enriching cultural excursion to the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn, New York. The visit provided students with a unique opportunity to explore a diverse range of contemporary compositions, spanning the 1980s to the present, created by artists based in the vibrant area of New York City known as Loisaida/LES (Lower East Side/East Village) and its close surrounding neighborhoods.
“The visit to the Nassau County Museum of Art provided our students with transformative cultural experiences, allowing them to connect with the vibrant energy and creative spirit of New York City’s downtown art scene,” said Dr. Lagnado-Papp, principal of Lawrence High School. “Exploring the diverse range of compositions by artists from one of New York’s iconic neighborhoods offered our students valuable insights into the evolution of contemporary art and the social and cultural contexts that shape artistic expression.”
