LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (OCTOBER 2024)—Lawrence Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) was thrilled to host a special visit from the Inwood Fire Department, providing young learners with an exciting and educational experience focused on fire safety.
During this engaging visit, children had the opportunity to explore the various equipment and tools that firefighters use to keep our community safe. Firefighters shared important safety tips, teaching children what to do in case of a fire emergency. The hands-on experience allowed children to hold equipment and even walk through the fire truck, sparking their curiosity and imagination.
"We are grateful to the Inwood Fire Department for taking the time to visit our students," said Patricia Almonaitis, Director at Lawrence UPK. "These experiences not only educate our children about fire safety but also foster a sense of community and respect for our first responders."
Parents are encouraged to ask their children about what they learned during this memorable visit. This interaction will help reinforce the importance of fire safety and ensure that the lessons learned are remembered.
