Two Lawrence High School Students Selected to Perform at the NAfME Eastern Division Conference

LAWRENCE, NEW YORK (DECEMBER 2022)—Congratulations to Lawrence High School students, Emma Urgen and Matthew Sharin, who have been selected to represent Lawrence School District at the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) Eastern Division Conference hosted by the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA). 

“The talents of our Lawrence students will never cease to amaze me,” said Dr. Ann Pedersen, Superintendent of Schools. “Congratulations to our two Lawrence High School students, Emma Urgen and Matthew Sharin for their outstanding accomplishment. Our students are able to continue their successful musical careers due to the guidance and support of their music teachers.”

“We are incredibly excited for Emma and Matthew to perform at the National Association for Music Education Eastern Division Conference,” said Dr. Lagnado-Papp, Principal of Lawrence High School. “Watching our students grow, perfect their musical skills, and be recognized for their talent brings our school a great sense of fulfillment. This recognition is just the beginning of a rewarding musical future for both of these gifted student musicians. ”

Emma and Matthew will be performing as part of the  NAfME All-Eastern Symphony Orchestra with outstanding student musicians from across the eastern region of the United States. The conference will take place in Rochester in April 2023 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
