The fifth grade students at Lawrence Elementary School have been studying the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and how the challenges Jackie Robinson faced connect to human rights.
Students applied what they learned from the biography Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson Changed America by Sharon Robinson, as well as completed Nearpod activities, ReadWorks articles, and Flocabulary lessons to learn how Jackie Robinson fought for equality.
In honor of Jackie Robinson Day today, the fifth grade students in Ms. Foster's and Ms. Walsh's classes participated in an All-Star Trivia Kahoot game sponsored by the Jackie Robinson Museum. Classes from around the country joined in the fun; our LES students were able to work as a team and have fun while answering the Kahoot questions!
