Student Translators needed/Community services
If you are interested in translating at various school/community events, please see Ms. Avallone in room 223 or send her an email at javallone@lawrence.org. There is a google classroom set up for announcements. Translators are needed for Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday, November 4th from 6- 8:15 pm. Please let Ms. Avallone know if you are interested. It counts for community service hours.
Junior Class
Glub Glub Glub...Does anyone smell something fishy? Oh wait, it's the Junior Class trip announcement to the New York Aquarium! Juniors, give cash plus permission slips to Mr. Ziff in room 322 or to any of your Junior Class officers. The cost is $22. Money and slips are due tomorrow. Spots are limited so first come, first serve! Thank you
Pink Salute to Service Game
Attention all students! Join us this Saturday, November 2 at 11AM for our Pink Salute to Service Football Game!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Where Pink: Show your support for breast cancer awareness.
Free Merch: The first students to arrive will receive FREE merch from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines-but hurry, supplies are limited!
Activities will include:
Recruitment Opportunities: Our local volunteer fire departments will be at the game recruiting.
Family Fun: Bring your younger brothers and sisters! Sign them up for exciting programs with our local Police Activity League. Programs include Basketball, Cheer and Indoor Soccer.
Free Tee Shirts!
During the game our service members will give out free tee shirts to the crowd.
Let's come together to show our awareness to breast cancer and honor servicemen and women while enjoying our last football game and a day of fun and community spirit.
Remember Game Time is 11AM.

Asian American Club
Good morning Lawrence! There will be a short Asian American Club meeting directly after school this afternoon. The meeting will be held in room 322.
Junior Class
The Junior Class is inviting everyone to join us as we present a Lawrence Movie Night. Tomorrow night we will be showing the "Book of Life" in the auditorium at 5:30. The entry fee is $5 and we will be additionally selling a Popcorn and water combo, glow sticks and there will be face painting. We can't wait to see you there!
Boys Varsity soccer
On to the Finals! The Boy's Varsity Soccer team defeated #1 Seed Mineola 1-0 to advance to the County Finals. Ben Perez scored off of a perfectly played corner kick by Yaxon Arriaga to give the Golden Tornadoes the 1-0 lead. Lawrence never looked back as the defense, lead by Ben, Osman Sevilla, Joseph Gonzalez, Yaxon, Alex Samayoa and Kevin Molina completely shut down and frustrated the attack of Mineola. Gabriel Rosales made 7 saves to keep the shutout for the Tornadoes. Lawrence next plays Floral Park in the County Finals this Sunday, November 3rd at 4PM at Farmingdale State College. Come out and support the team! Let's Go Tornadoes!
Girls Varsity and JV Basketball
Hello everyone, it is I, the White Shadow, A.K.A. Coach Frier speaking on behalf of Coach Manhartt!!! We had a great turnout for our first Girls Basketball Open Gym and we wanted to announce 2 more Open Gym opportunities for girls... Thursday November
7th times still to be determined. Make sure you are there...our players are not easily scared...we had a ton of fun...so did everyone...that came down to play...the winners will stay on the team and live out there dream...of being the best... and taking on the rest...but we will never know...if you don't take the test...everyone in the school will join us on this quest...they will be the reason...that we have a successful season...this is the year that we all will earn...there are 2 choices you either win or you learn...
Library Rules
We would like to remind all students of classroom expectations in the library:
-There is no eating in the library
-All students must be seated at a table – quietly working, reading or using their time
in a productive manner.
-If you would like to go to the library during lunch – you must go to the lunchroom
first and obtain a pass from the security guard in the lunchroom. There are a limited
amount of passes available each day.
-The library is a privilege. Any student acting inappropriately in the library or planning to
skip class in the library will be prohibited from using library. You wil be banned and
denied entry.
