Congratulations to Mrs. Eiss, Mrs. Novak, Mrs. Schneider, and Ms. Pistorio’s kindergarten classes on completing this year's iRead Challenge! The children worked so hard learning their letters, letter sounds, high frequency words, and reading books. The iRead challenge required the class to work on the program for 20 minutes a day, an average of 100 minutes per week. Classes that read 100 minutes a week earned a star and after earning five stars, classes earned a t-shirt! The children were so proud of their accomplishment…just look at their smiles!
Reading is a fundamental skill and it is essential to encourage your children to read daily. You can read books together at home, utilize Raz-Kids, and even join the Peninsula Public Library. They welcome and host children's programs monthly, and you can check their calendar online at: https://www.peninsulapublic.org/programs_children.php.
