School is a great place to be---especially at Lawrence Primary School. Each week brings about moments of learning and this week was no different!
*Ms. Risi's Rockstars have a lot of responsibilities in school! Students are praised for all of their positive work by earning Class Dojo points. Ms. Risi's second graders can either cash their points in for prizes throughout each week or wait until they've saved 100 points to earn a McDonald's lunch. It is never too early to learn about economics!
*The first grade students in the classes of Ms. Arleo and Ms. Feigeles have been studying astronomy. While learning about astronomy, they also spent time learning about the phases of the moon! Ms. Arleo's students were provided with a home learning opportunity to use Oreo cookies to represent the different moon phases and Ms. Feigeles' students did the activity in school. Click the link or photo above for directions and try this activity at home!*
*What is the best way to prepare for a snowy day? Well, to make your own snow of course! Ms. McCabe's third grade students did exactly that in anticipation of the January snow. This Magic Snow project provided students with the opportunity to learn that osmosis drives water molecules into the polymer structure. As the polymer soaks up the water, it expands! After the science project, students then designed their own snow scene.*
