Dear Lawrence Families,
We all share great pride in our students. To acknowledge the success of the class of 2020, please consider taking part in a Long Island wide event. You can do this by flickering your house lights and making noise (banging pots and pans) at your door for 20 minutes beginning at 8:20 p.m. tonight. (20:20 military time) . May 1st is Senior commitment day, when college acceptances are due and we want our seniors to know they have the support of our community.
Stay socially distant but show your emotional connection to these fine students.

One of many teaching bright spots to brighten up a rainy April Day, Lawrence Learns!
Lawrence is so proud of our teachers, students and families. The mission statement in Lawrence includes a statement to “prepare learners for life’s challenges”. Our learners are well prepared and taught well under caring staff. This image is of a 5th Grade Class with 100% attendance in a LIVE Class . With a new remote schedule, students finish each live class daily with some math “brain work.” All 25 students worked on “4nums.com.” Students eagerly come up with different equations to reach a solution and share. They problem solve together too if needed!
The Blue Angela will fly over NY today as a sign of American Strength. May you be uplifted by the display of unity. May the fly by help strengthen us all.
Working for the children, Principal Chris Moore, joined by secretaries Nereyda Amaya Moran, Sabrina Lynch and Head Custodian Billy Mahr prepare the second grade Chromebooks for Wednesday distribution. Although these young learners had tablets to access programming, with the extended school closure, we want our learners signing in to “live” instruction with their fabulous teachers. We await delivery on the first grade Chromebooks. Previously issued student tablets will serve as “ hot spots” for internet connection.
Dear Lawrence Families, The Governor has announced that school will be closed until at least May 15th. Please stay connected with your teachers and our social emotional support teams during this period of “NY Pause”. Following social distancing guidelines remains our shared responsibility . We are proud of our students for their academic work ethic and for handling the tremendous emotional pressure of this crisis. Reach out for support, be strong and be well Thank you.

As we look for mental wellness in this crisis, this is a resource from the Governor’s update to help address rising stress and anxiety.

Dear Lawrence Families,
Thursday and Friday MS and HS students are asked to follow the posted schedule to pick up locker belongings from the back of our buildings. We thank our facilities department and remind you that social distancing will be enforced at this time. No one will come in the building. Drive or walk up and tell your name and locker number to our staff. Bagged belongings will be passed across a six foot table. Cleaned lockers will allow Lawrence a chance to fully sanitize the buildings.
Thank you
